"Coolest
Car In Town"
say's the Palm Beach
Post
|
The Sparrow Personal
Transit Module
is a single passenger all electric vehicle.
Powered by thirteen 12 volt batteries, the Sparrow provides an
effective range of 35 to 45 miles and a top speed of 75-80 mph.
|
There
were only 355 made. Ours is #6
and was the
final prototype vehicle. |

|
|
|
The Sparrow was
made
at the Corbin Motors plant in Hollister, CA. from 2000 till late 2002.
On March 31st, 2003 Corbin Motors filed for bankruptcy,
effectively killing the future of the car, until
Myers
Motors resurrected the company in 2004 with the NmG-1.
| The Sparrow
is a single seat, electric commuter vehicle with an
original MSRP of $13,900. Its highly efficient design
enables it to provide extremely cost effective
transportation for as little as a penny per mile. |

This
gold Sparrow is owned by HighTechScience.org

 |
Here is
the license plate from our gold Sparrow. |
The car plugs into an ordinary 110-volt electrical outlet
and fully recharges in 6 hours (3 hours with a 220-volt
charger).

|
As you can see, the Sparrow came in many
colors.
|
|

|
Only 355
were originally manufactured.
Approx.
250
made it onto
the roads.
40-50
are
still around today.

 |
| The
Sparrow features an AM/FM/CD stereo, electrically
operated windows, full instrumentation including
voltage meter, amps meter, MPH, etc. The
transmission is fully automatic, with two simple
settings for forward and reverse. The car
registers as a motorcycle, insures as a
motorcycle, and is completely street legal.
Because it has an enclosed passenger compartment,
anyone driving the Sparrow doesn't need a
motorcycle helmet.
