  The JCM SAM r I Sumo Robot is an easy to assemble sumo wrestling robot kit. With it you can learn the principles of electronic fabrication, programming, and mechanical design. Some soldering and assembly is required however no programming experience is necessary for the sumo robot.

   The kit can be made into a mini sumo robot and can also be turned  into a line follower, soccer bot, or many others robots. The JCM kit contains over 40 components.

Sumo Robot Features:
  1. Powerful, easy to use Atmel Mega8L processor.
  2. Provisions for Sharp GP2D02 or GP2D12 Rangefinder.
  3. Dual down facing reflective sensors.
  4. Optional 3 forward facing reflective sensors.
  5. Optional crystal to increase clock speed to 16MHz.
  6. Reset Button.
  7. Powerful 6AA battery pack (9V ).
  8. On-off switch.
  9. Convenient parallel port programming connector.
  10. L298 motor controller with up to 4A and 48V drive capacity.
  11. Convenient prototyping area with power.
  12. Full access to all I/O ports.
   The SAM r I robot was designed at the outset to be easy to build, yet allow the builder to be involved in selecting gear ratios and building his/her own gearbox, bending and forming the metal chassis, soldering the circuit board, and customizing the robots own program. Each kit comes with a detailed 24 page illustrated instructional manual, including theory of operation and suggestions for robot enhancements.
