The Science & Technology Center is located in Roosevelt County within the Poplar Middle School in Poplar, MT. It is at the heart of the "Fort Peck Indian Reservation". The student population in the area is 94% Native American. The Fort Peck Reservation is home to the Assiniboine & Sioux tribes. The tribal headquarters are also located in Poplar. The Reservation is 110 miles long and 40 miles wide. The Fort Peck Reservation, established in 1871, is located in the extreme northeastern corner of Montana. The reservation is bounded on the south by the Missouri River and is not far from the Canadian border on the north. The topography for the area is that of a rolling prairie.
